BANGOR – Amber M. Graves Rioux, 95, passed peacefully at her home on February 19, 2018. She was born January 12, 1923 in Caribou, the daughter of Harry W. and Catherine (Embelton) Curry. Following High School, Amber married Harry E. Graves and started their family, raising 6 children in Levant. For many years Amber worked for the Levant School Department, New England Pipe, Page Answering Service and retired from Eastern Beauty Supply. In 1993, she married Alex Rioux and enjoyed spending time in Florida and traveling. Amber’s favorite pastime was dancing, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, Levant Grange, Eastern Star and the Rebekah’s. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Harry E. Graves, second husband, Alex Rioux and her brothers and sisters. Amber is survived by her children, Dana Graves and his wife, Dottie, Robert Graves and his wife, Sharon, Norma Jean Jordan and her husband, Herbert, Judy Jewett and her husband, Larry, Leslie Graves and his wife, Donna and Brenda Golder; six grandchildren, Brian Graves, Mike and Jay Jewett, Sherry Ringutte, Scott McLaughlin and Jeffrey Jordan; eight great-grandchildren, Heidi, Andrew, Rachael, Jordyn, Cameron, Joseph, Cody and Brielle; one brother-in-law, Ronald Graves; several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Sandra Storman, caregiver and the staff of Beacon Hospice. A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held 2pm, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Spring Interment will be at a later date. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service Saturday.
