Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Dale Henderson can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Life Story for Dale Howard Henderson

Dale Howard  Henderson
ORRINGTON - Dale H. Henderson, 65, died in his sleep at home February 22, 2018. He was born July 18th, 1952, the son of Herbert Henderson and Mary L. (Harriman) Henderson Pierce.
Dale graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1969. A lifelong resident of Orrington with a Maine work ethic that began at an early age helping his dad working in the woods and milking cows at Howard’s Farm. As a young man Dale & his brother, Danny, started working in the woods together carrying on the Maine logging tradition. Dale traveled Route 9 to cut wood with his skidder for Merle Fletcher for several years. Eventually creating his own forestry and land development business, brokering wood for many years thru the HC Haynes family.
An avid sportsman in Maine including years of travel, beginning in his 20’s to the rugged frontier of Labrador with family and friends. Many years of memories were made at Tasuiyak Lake and his lodge at Osprey Lake. The family cottage on Branch Lake was a gathering place for his family and friends. In later years, he developed a passion of feeding, watching, & photographing wildlife in its natural habitat.
In addition to his father, Herbert, he was predeceased by his brother, Danny, paternal grandparents, Jack and Maude Henderson, maternal grandparents, Howard and Rena Harriman, Aunt Nancy Johnston. Surviving in addition to his mother, Mary L. Pierce, are his daughters, Amy LaCouture, husband David, grandchildren, Christian & Taylor of Louisana. Heidi Henderson, grandchildren, Benjamin, Dylan, and Lyric of Bucksport. Holly Henderson and fiancé, Deric Faiella of New Hampshire. Aunt, Barbara Shamblin of Missouri. Cousin, Royce Bowden of Limington. Loyal lifetime friend from childhood, Judy Sawyer. Friends sharing a lifetime of hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventures, Jason Follette, Ralph Hosford, Tim & Jason Trask, John Dickens, Steve O’Halloran, Carl Ulman, Joe Barnes, Lee Bennett, Hank McPherson, and numerous others that shared his passion. Respected attorney and friend, Nathan Dane. And last but not least, his beloved canine companion, Bentley.
Graveside Services will be announced in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery, Orrington, with a gathering of family and friends after the service.
