Obituary for Stanley Jarvis Pyzynski

Bangor- Stanley Pyzynski, 74, passed away February 24, 2018, at his home, surrounded by family. He was born July 21, 1943, in Brewer, the son of Stanley A. and Reona (Kelley) Pyzynski.
Stan graduated from Brewer high school where he was a standout football player. Following graduation, he attended the Northern Conservatory of music in Bangor, where he met the love of his life, Lorna Pyzynski, as she attended Husson College. They married April 11, 1965. He was a professional musician for over 25 years, and a founding member of the band The Triumphs, playing throughout the state. Stan was an accomplished guitarist, backing up bands like Chubby Checker, Dion and the Belmonts and Jerry Lee Lewis. He took his love of music to a career with Viner music where he worked for many years. In the late 1970’s Stan changed career paths and worked as a real estate broker and appraiser with JF Singleton Prudential Northeast Properties. He was a member of the Maine State Parkinson’s board for many years. Stan was a kind and nurturing soul, and always put others before himself. He was defined by his deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lorna. Surviving are his sons, Brian G. Pyzynski of Bangor, Matthew Pyzynski and his wife, Jessica, of Bangor; Three grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt, and Morgan Pyzynski; one sister, Lynn Johnson and her husband Chris, of Hermon.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Friday, March 2, with the Rev. Russell Hamilton, of the Pilgrim Orthodox Presbyterian church, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family
Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the ceremony. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor in the spring.
