The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Walter Nadeau can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Walter Lewis Nadeau

Walter Lewis  Nadeau
DIXMONT- Walter “Lewis” Nadeau, 77, passed away peacefully March 16, 2018, surrounded by family at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 7, 1940, in Brewer, the son of Walter C. and Izetta M. (Cookson) Nadeau.
Lewis graduated from Bangor High School in 1959. After High School he worked at Bangor Shoe where he met his wife of 50 years, Paula. He apprenticed as an electrician, then entered the Bangor Fire Department in 1968, where he retired in 1988. Lewis’ favorite pass times were hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Richard Nadeau. Surviving in addition to his wife, Paula (Perry) Nadeau, are a son, Dennis Nadeau Sr., and his wife, Angela; daughter, Denise Jenkins and her husband, Mark; grandchildren, Dennis Nadeau Jr., Christina Nickerson, Tyler Nadeau, Ashley Jenkins, and, Cade Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Jacob Nickerson and Myah Nickerson; sister, Carolyn (Nadeau) Trundy; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family invites relatives and friends to share in a celebration of Lewis’ life with conversation and refreshments 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor. Those who wish to remember Lewis in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Cancer Care of Maine, c/o EMHS Foundation, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931.
