Condolence From: Ron Drum
Condolence: I had the honor to be in the audience the evening when Brownie was inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame in 2005. How proud I was of my dear friend as his name was called and he walked across the stage in Ketner Hall at the National 4-H Center to take his place among the greats of the 4-H Program. However, during his remarks, Brownie did what only Brownie can do, he made the evening about all of us and not just himself. He said 4-H was "no longer about us being honored tonight" but about "these young folks who are only now making their marks and will lead us forward like" and then he began to name a few in the audience and included me. It was so Brownie. It says so much about why this man will be missed; and just how much he will be missed. It was an honor to have known him.

Condolence From: Stacey Guerin
Condolence: Brownie was a wonderful man who blessed the lives of many people. Our five sons all benefited from 4-H programs that Brownie supported. Especially note worthy were the International Exchange Program opportunities that allowed two of my sons the experience for spending a summer in France. Brownie always had an encouraging word or an uplifting thought whenever I talked with him. The world was a better place because of his kindnesses.
