Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Daniel Scott can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Daniel Joseph Scott

Daniel Joseph  Scott
Bangor- Daniel J. Scott, 32, went to be with his Lord March 22, 2018 after succumbing to a sudden illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 3, 1985 to proud parents Dan and Edna Scott.
Daniel graduated from Dedham Elementary School and Brewer High School, class of 2006.
In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by his two sisters, Carol Scott of Boston and Becky Hinchliffe, her husband Tom and their 6 children of Levant. One of the joys of his life was his 6 nieces and nephews, Jacob, Abigail, Jonathan, David, Julia, and Matthew. He is also survived by his only grandparent Jackie Mason of Falmouth.
Daniel loved life and every person in his life was important to him. Daniel had many interests and accomplishments in his life. First of all, Daniel successfully achieved Eagle Scout status. He served on two boards, Maine Disability Rights and SUFU ( Speaking Up For Us). He is very active in his church, Calvary Baptist Church, Brewer on the mission team, with the hunger ministry, and participating in the Sunday School program music ministry. He was talented with sign language and loved to communicate to people that were not able to communicate verbally. He was actively involved in Best Buddies at UMO and served on their board for one year. He was passionately involved in Special Olympics for 25 years and was looking forward to competing in the 2018 National Games in Seattle, playing Bocce. Another passion in Daniel's life was Zumba, and he loved the entire Zumba family. Thank you for the opportunity to share a little bit about our son with all of you.
The celebration of his life will be held on April 14th at 2pm at John Bapst High School, with Pastors Dan Russell and Scott McPhedran officiating. The family invites family and friends for conversation and refreshments to follow at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor. Internment to be later. Those who wish to remember Daniel in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Missions at Calvary Baptist Church, 61 State St., Brewer.
