Obituary for William Carrol Weymouth

BANGOR – William Carrol “Bill” Weymouth, 95, passed away May 25, 2018, after a brief illness. He was born April 14, 1923, in Abbott, the son of Carrol and Madelene (Foster) Weymouth.

After attending schools in Guilford, Bill served in the United State Army during World War II, in the European Theatre. He was among the first to cross the Rhine River in the Battle of the Bulge. In 1946, after serving his country, Bill returned to Guilford to marry the love of his life, Felicia Applebee. He trained to be an Operator for the B&A Railroad where he worked for 10 years. He worked for Superior Paper Products in Bangor until his retirement in 1983. Bill and Felicia enjoyed many winters at Orange Acres in Sarasota, Florida, and summers at Halfmoon Pond in Searsport. Bill was loved by all for his friendly, caring ways and especially his great sense of humor. He enjoyed lobster bakes with good friends, sailing in Bar Harbor, camping with grandchildren, fishing, and traveling. Bill also took great pride in marching with the World War II veterans in the Bangor-Brewer parades.

Bill was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Felicia J. Weymouth. He is survived by his son, Alan W. Weymouth and wife, Mary Jean of Bar Harbor; a daughter, Caryl D. Giggey and husband, Michael of Topsham; grandson, Matthew Giggey of Portland; granddaughter, Erin Guay and husband, David, of Lewiston; great-grandchildren, Samuel and Annaliese Guay, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center for Bill’s wonderful care.
