Reginald Richards, 88, died May 12, 2018 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Old Town, May 6, 1930 son of John and Mabel (Dawes) Richards.
Reggie served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed at County Tire and Coles Express.
Reggie was a very kind and helpful man who enjoyed helping others. He would go out of his way to lend a helping hand. His caring manner was very much appreciated by his wife’s sisters the “Libbey Girls” after they became widows.
He enjoyed snow mobiling, and fishing at his camp on Pushaw. Reggie had a distinct whistle and when you heard it you knew it was him. He was always very hard working and took great pride in caring for his home and grounds.
He was predeceased by sisters, Laura Brodeur and Vera Bishop; brothers, Robert, Arthur and Gerald .
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Geraldine (Libbey) Richards; his beloved dog Rondo; sisters, Verna Joy and Darlene Polk. He was a very special uncle to many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10 am. Friday May 25, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. The Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery.
