BANGOR – Charlotte Martin, 97, wife of the late Donald Martin, passed away June 17, 2018, in Kenduskeag, lovingly cared for by Kristi Hathaway. She was born January 20, 1921, in Hampden, the daughter of Thomas and Nettie (Crosby) Drinkwater. Charlotte was extraordinarily talented with a needle and thread, making many garments for family and friends. She was a former member of Bangor Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Charlotte was also a 4-H Leader and a Den Mother for Boy Scouts. In addition to her parents and her husband, Charlotte was predeceased by a great-grandson, Daniel Pray; three sisters; and six brothers. She is survived by daughters, Linda Gregory, Nancy Sanford and husband, Paul; a son, Russell Martin and wife, Roberta; grandchildren, Steven Hathaway and wife, Kristi, Michelle Largay, Cara Madore, Jason Sanford, Jonathan Sanford, Maria Sweetland, Carrie Duncan; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 1 p.m., Friday, June 22, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, with the Rev. Stan Griffin, pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Kenduskeag Village Cemetery, Kenduskeag, immediately following the service, Friday.
