Condolences

Condolence From: Julie Arnold LIsnet
Condolence: Roberta was a friend and neighbor and one of the first people we met after moving to Milbridge in 1964. From the moment I met her at the tender age of 5 I thought she was one of the most beautiful women I’d ever seen. She took us on a tour of Petite Manan point and Dutton Cottage and of course the little chapel in the woods, All Souls by the Sea. We fell so in love with it I got married there in 1984. It’s still a favorite spot. Roberta and my mom (who I lost October 26, 2017) became fast friends and stayed friends for the 37 years we lived there and beyond. I know I speak for my brother, Rick, sister, Jeannette and my dear mom, Tutta, if she were still with us, that we count ourselves lucky to have known Roberta. May she Rest In Peace.

Condolence: To my dearest neighbor of almost 40 years. I remember moving to Milbridge the year after JFK died and meeting you and Billy. Then Mom and I sold the house and moved to Brewer in 01. I tried to call you when she passed away last October, but the lady at the care facility told me that you would not remember her or know me when I ask about visiting. Mom too lost her memories; and you ladies had such great memories! I think you Roberta were the last of the Milbridge Main streeters. I go up and down that street remembering all our good friends, the Skinners, Roger, Ava and Larry - the Upton sisters who had the little cottage beside you, Phil and Madeline Sawyer, Reggie and Virginia Strout, Mary Whitney, the Chapmans. It was a wonderful place with such great neighbors. I will always miss it - and you and Billy. Maybe someplace in time, or another dimension we will all meet again - wouldn't that be cool? Till then.

Condolence From: John and Jane Dutton
Condolence: Roberta was a fine outgoing lady whom we met through Mary Dutton of Fremont, NH. Roberta was kind enough to welcome us to Steuben several years and escorted us through her home, cottage and a nearby chapel. She was very gracious and will be sorely missed. RIP, Roberta, you have earned it.
