Obituary for John Wesley Lisenby

John Wesley Lisenby, graduated home to Heaven to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on June 28, 2018, his 80th birthday. He was born in Boston, MA, June 28, 1938, son of John W. Lisenby, Sr. and Kathleen (Wylie) Lisenby. John loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. He was a talented artist and carver of wood having made antler carvings and knives. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Wentworth; a daughter Melanie Monk and her husband John; a son John P. Lisenby and his wife Donna; grandchildren Miranda and Reid Monk, Catherine and Leah Lisenby; great grandchildren Madilynn and Alessandra; Shirley’s family, two daughters Wanda Bean and Wendy Morril and her husband, Scott; her grandchildren Victoria, Meredith, Paige and Jake; great grandchildren Jaron and Weston; her brother and sister-in-love, Ron and Debbie Wentworth. John was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Wolf Lisenby A celebration of John’s life will be held 2 pm. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at the Hampden Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., with Pastor Larry Hodgkins, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call 1 pm. until time of service. In keeping with John’s spiritual life journey, beautiful smile, bright eyes and positive attitude, the family asks that folks wear colors, not black to the celebration.
