Marjorie Cameron
ORONO – Marjorie (Verrill) Cameron, 95, passed away July 2, 2018, at her residence, surrounded by family. She was born July 3, 1922, in Bangor, the daughter of Lester and Margaret Verrill.

Marjorie graduated from Winterport High School. Following high school, she earned a nursing degree from the University of Maine. Marjorie enlisted in the U.S. Army following college, stationed in the Philippines, where she was a nurse. After the war, she continued nursing in Texas and Massachusetts. Marjorie later retired from the nursing field to help her husband, Robert, in the family business.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Cameron; a son, Stuart Douglas Cameron; brothers, Harland, Stanley, and Richard Verrill; and a sister, Joan Verrill. Marjorie is survived by her sons, Charles Cameron, and Peter Cameron and wife, Joanne; grandchildren, Peter Jr. and wife, Catie, Michael, and Lisa and husband, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Colby, Hailey, Logan, Zachery, Maxwell, Lucas, and Eva; and a brother, David Verrill and wife, Carolyn, of Winterport.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, service will be private. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
