Obituary for Eugene B. Hill, II

BREWER - Eugene B. Hill II, 54, husband of Kathryn Rice Hill, drowned after saving his friend on July 30, 2018. He was born, February 4, 1964, in Bangor, the son of the late Eugene B. Hill and Pamela Gilman Hill. Gene was a devoted and lifelong member of the Second Congregational Church in Brewer and was employed by the Brewer Housing Authority. He loved working security for Production Services of Maine/ Waterfront Concerts and appreciated his parking crew and his many friends at PSM. Gene always had a kind word for everyone and will always be remembered for his smile, infectious laugh, and commitment to helping others. He was known for his sense of adventure and endless enthusiasm for life. As a life-long sports fan, he enjoyed watching sports and participating in his bowling league at Bangor Brewer Bowling Lanes, dartball with his church league, and playing games with family and friends. Kathy and Gene loved travelling and exploring new places always coming back with lots of fascinating stories of their cruising adventures. Gene is survived by his wife, Kathryn, his mother, Pamela Hill of Brewer, his sisters: Dawn and her fiance, Dennis Allard Jr. and Petrea; daughters: Christine, Heaven and her partner, Benjamin Hersom, Katie Marie Robinson, and Amanda; granddaughter: Jordyn Mae; brother-in-law: Donald Rice III and his wife, Leslie of Plainfield, CT, mother-in-law, Millie Rice, and extended family members. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6 to 8pm Friday, August 3, 2018 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 with Pastor David Morrison officiating. All are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service, Saturday. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, North Main Street, Brewer.
