Joanna L. Staples, 49, died unexpectedly August 15, 2018 near her home in Atlanta, GA. She was born in Bangor, ME on August 24, 1968, the oldest daughter of Robert W. and Gladys (Gould) Staples.
Joanna was well-known for her beautiful smile, her cheerful and fun-loving personality, and her love of Christ, friends, and family.
A 1986 graduate of John Bapst Memorial High School in Bangor, she went on to graduate from Word of Life Bible Institute (New York) in 1988 and continued her education at Cedarville College in Cedarville, OH. She was able to combine her love of Christ with her joy of singing, theatre, and travel throughout her schooling. In her spare time, she enjoyed comedies, mysteries, and science fiction. She was employed by Hewlett Packard Enterprises.
Joanna is survived by her mother, Gladys Staples of Holden; her brother Matthew Staples; her sister Angela and her husband Jason Brackett; her former brother in-law Dave Churney; her niece Ashleigh and nephew Samuel Staples; a large extended family, and dear friends. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her sister Julie Staples-Churney.
