WINTERPORT – Evelyn A. (Patterson) Cook, 90, passed away unexpectedly September 8, 2018, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 2, 1928, in Brewer, the daughter of Herbert L. and Anna B. (MacCullum) Patterson.

Evelyn graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 1946. Following graduation, she began working at the Eastern Trust & Bank in Bangor as a Teller. Evelyn married Ronald Cook on March 30, 1968, and together they shared 50 years of marriage. She enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, and antique shows.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Larry Duhaime, and a sister, Muriel Washburn. Surviving is her husband, Ronald Cook; a daughter, Lynn Rubin; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Doughty; a brother-in-law, Robert Washburn; nieces; nephews, including a special nephew, Richard Heath Jr.; and many relatives and friends in Florida, and here in Maine.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2018, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Finson Road, Bangor, immediately following the service, Saturday. Those who wish to remember Evelyn in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Shiners Hospital for Children, c/o Anah Shrine Center, 1404 Broadway, Bangor, ME 4401.
