Old Town – Ronald E. Henderson, 87, died September 21, 2018, at his home, following a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born August 8, 1931 in Old Town, the son of Harold F. and Helen E. (Howard) Henderson.

Ronald married Gladys “Bunny” Thibodeau July 25, 1953, they were married for 51 years until her passing in 2004. He attended the University of Maine and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Ronald worked many years in the banking and real estate industry and was a strong supporter of the local community and school system. Ronald was a member of the American Legion, and a lifelong member of the K of C, Fr. Druillette council #2537 and the 4th degree assembly #364.

He is predeceased by his wife and grandson Justin Gaetani. Ronald is survived by his daughters, Debbie and husband, Scott Gurney, of China Lake, Catherine and husband, Peter Gaetani, of Veazie, Ronda and husband, David Paradis, of Reading Massachusetts; sons, Christopher and wife, Paula, of Concord, New Hampshire, John and wife, Kimberly, of Bangor; grandchildren, Christopher and wife Tanya, Jessica and husband, Maxwell, Katherine, Jonathan, Jillian, Garrett, Julia, Jacqueline, Danielle, Katherine, Jennifer and husband, Jonathan, Erin and husband, Samuel; great-grandchildren, C.J., Carson, Kaden, Isaac, Eve, Kylan, Kohle, Noah, Ava, Addison, Zachary, Alex, Ben, and Jack; Ronald was also survived by his significant other, Lori Sampson. The family would like to give special thanks to friend and former neighbor, Kathleen Harkins, for her generosity and loving support of Ron and family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M., Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Parish of the Resurrection, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town. Interment will be in Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the reception hall of the Holy Family Church following interment. Those wishing to remember Ronald in a special way may make gifts in his name to the Animal Orphanage, P.O. Box #565 Orono, ME 04473.
