Obituary

Charlene E. Binette, 87, passed away unexpectedly January 27, 2019, at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 12, 1932, in Glenburn, the daughter of Ervin C. and Arlene A. (Crosby) Goodspeed.

Family was Charlene’s life. She loved holidays and spending time with “the girls” who fondly called her Mimi. She enjoyed traveling with family and captured many special memories taking pictures. Charlene was well-known in the surrounding Bangor area as a superb seamstress and had several loyal customers. Over the years, she and her husband Francis enjoyed square dancing. She liked telling stories of the many years she drove a school bus.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Francis Binette; sons, Leon Binette and wife Carolyn of Orrington, Dan Binette and wife Natalie of Sherman; very special grandchildren, Hannah and husband Brian, Hillary, Holly, Jenna and husband Scott, Eric and wife Cathy; great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Isabelle; siblings, Robert Goodspeed and wife Pat, Janice Shepley and husband Donald.

A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held 1 PM, Friday, February 1, 2019, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, following the service. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.

Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.
May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:7) May the hope of a resurrection right here on a restored earth bring you comfort. (John 5:28, 29) Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life) Psalm 37:11, 29) But the meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it.

My deepest sympathy
