Holden - Linda Harnum passed away peacefully in the presence of her family following a courageous battle with cancer on May 17, 2019. Linda Webber Frost was born on November 16, 1941 in Bangor to Phyllis (Webber)Frost and H. Parker Frost. Following her father's passing she later became the stepdaughter of David W. Fuller. Linda grew up in and became a devoted member of the greater Bangor community, graduating from Bangor High School in 1959. She went on to attend Endicott College and finished with a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1963. During her time there she served as a representative to the Judicial Committee and a member of the Penn State Chapter of the Alpha Phi Sorority. Linda met and would later marry her husband, Richard "Dick" Harnum, while completing her junior year of college. Together they moved to Boston, where she worked for Traveler's Insurance Company for four years. Over the years she would lend her time to many worthwhile causes and often volunteered at Massachusetts General Hospital, Eastern Maine Medical Center, The Speech and Hearing Center, and the local YMCA. She was a proud member of The Junior League, participating in both Maine and Massachusetts. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, enjoyed her membership in her investment club, supported the John Bapst Foundation, and was a corporator of Bangor Savings Bank. Linda and Dick returned to Maine as they prepared to start a family. They chose a gorgeous piece of land in Holden where they would build their lifelong home. It was here that they would raise their children and where Linda would house her prized purebred Arabian horses. She spent countless hours riding, tending to her gardens, and cultivating a very successful asparagus patch. Linda was an incredible mother. She was thrilled to be blessed with two children and she was devoted to their happiness and care. Those who knew Linda would often comment on her kind and unassuming nature and her ability to see through exterior appearances. She was quick to toss aside formalities in favor of being genuine and she made sure to show her gratitude for the life and love she was given. Linda would spend hours playing with and spoiling her grandsons. She was the best Nannie. Linda was predeceased by her parents and sister L. Jacqueline F. Witham. She is survived by her husband, Richard Harnum, her children; Keeley L. Harnum of Bangor, and Rick Harnum and his wife Courtney of Hampden; her grandsons Madden P. Harnum and Holden RB Harnum of Hampden; Sister-in-law Susan Hamilton of Clinton; nieces Christine and Jennifer Hamilton of Clinton; nephews Lance Mahaney and his wife Patricia of Palm Beach, FL; Kevin Mahaney of Palm Beach, FL , and several cousins.
