Aunt Helen your family gave you a beautiful memorial service. You have such a loving family because you are so very loving, I watched your service virtually and unable to share some of my special memories. Dolly, I am sure you will remember most all of these. I was your bothersome younger cousin. Aunt Helen let me stay the weekends at her house on the Pine Tree Rd. very often. We slept under the old apple tree in front of the house, scaring ourselves and going back into the house in the early morning hours. We danced to the Locomotion making a train with Sylvia and Melinda. Aunt Helen never minded except on Sundays. No dancing, playing cards, games or even cooking. Aunt Helen cooked all day Saturday to not have to cook on Sunday. And boy what a mess she made baking. Dolly and I would have to do all of those dishes. We watched Billy Graham and listened to How Great Thou Art, Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder, etc. AFTER church at So. Levant Baptist Church with the booming voice of Pastor Teddy Perkins. Those were special times for me. I came to know and enjoy the church community. Aunt Helen gave me a wonderful gift as a sensitive young per-teen. She showed me the way to Jesus. Because of Aunt Helen, I was given a scholarship week at Camp Fair Haven. While there, I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and soul as my Savior. I still have the Bible that was gifted to me and wrote the date in it. It is a very special Bible to me as is my very special Aunt Helen, I'm extremely happy and at peace with your passing on to Heaven since I was able to visit you this summer.
Aunt Helen, now that you are in Heaven with Jesus, please keep watching over my soul. I love you very much and I want that big hug from you when you welcome me to Heaven just like you did most weekends in the little house across the road from Nanny and Grampy Snow. Oh the stories Dolly and I could tell, but I bet you already know.
With much Love,

Dodie Evans
