Marna Teruzzi Denton, 83, beloved wife of George Henry Denton, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019. Marna was born 1936 in Bridgeport Connecticut, the daughter of the late Orlando and Anita Teruzzi.

Marna graduated from Roger Ludlow High School in Fairfield, Connecticut. She continued her education at Marymount College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Marna studied modern dance as a post graduate at Columbia University with the renowned dance innovator Martha Graham. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for the Fairfield Tool Company, which later became Precision Resource. She married George in 1969, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage in July. Marna was an avid sportswoman who enjoyed tennis, golf, boating, and skiing. She was also an extraordinarily talented cook. Her greatest joy was her family, to whom she gave endless love and support. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Marna’s special place was their seaside home in Southport where she hosted many memorable gatherings of family and friends.

She is survived by her husband George, her son Peter Wolcott and his wife Kerri of Woodbury, Connecticut; grandchildren Pierce Wolcott of Bozeman, Montana, Hayley Wolcott and her husband Jordan Young of Isle of Skye, Scotland; nieces Kimberly MacMillan and Ashley MacMillan both of Israel, Meagan Macmillan and Noah Katznelson of California and nephew Eitan Katznelson of California. She was predeceased by her sister Janice Katznelson.

A celebration of life service will be held with family and friends in the summer. A memorial contribution in lieu of flowers may be made to the Southport Junior Yacht Club Sailing Foundation, PO Box 68,
Southport, ME 04576.
