CARMEL – Allen I. Perley, 54, passed away July 16, 2020, at a Boston hospital, after a courageous battle with liver disease. He was born March 15, 1966, in Bangor, the son of Roberta (Simpson) Perley and Fred Perley.

Allen graduated from Hampden Academy, Class of 1984. He graduated from Husson University earning a B.S. in Business Administration, and continued his education at the University of Maine earning a Master’s in Business Administration. Allen worked at Pizza Hut while attending college. After graduating college, he continued to climb the management chain. Allen eventually obtained the District Manager position, overseeing 7 stores in the eastern Maine area. He enjoyed his 37 year career at Pizza Hut, and the friendships he made along the way.

During his younger years, Allen was an avid athlete. He succeeded at all sports in which he participated. After a motorcycle accident paralyzed his right arm, he impressed others with his ability to adapt and overcome numerous challenges. He drew on his courage and strength and continued to be competitive, developing a love for golf. Allen enjoyed supporting his girls, Sarah and Emily, devoting any and all spare time to practices, games, and competitions. His devotion to helping them succeed had no boundaries. The girls both enjoyed success in their pursuits with Allen always being there to cheer them on.

Allen was predeceased by his father, Fred Perley; and his very special grandmother, Sarah W. Simpson “Nammie”. He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Perley and Emily Perley; his mother, Roberta S. Perley, his brother, Robert Perley, all of Carmel; and former wife, Lori Perley of Hampden.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Northern Light - Eastern Maine Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess of Boston, who provided care during Allen’s courageous fight.

Allen will always be remembered by the countless friends he made along the way. All those friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Life which will be held 12 to 4 p.m., Saturday July 25, 2020, at Allen’s home. Condolences to the family may be expressed at

Dear Bobbi and Rob,

I am so very sorry to hear about Allen. I know he means the world to you both and will be greatly missed. I also know that you were so proud of his accomplishments and that's attributed to how he was raised and loved by you Bobbi. I remember meeting him a few times over the years and he always had a smile for everyone.

My deepest condolences and prayers to his family.

I met Al during Freshman year at Hamden Academy. I recall his long throws in soccer & cranking black sabbath in the banana boat. I can still remember him getting his "first job" at Pizza Hut. He always was quick to laugh and joke around with everyone. Miss ya! DB
