BANGOR – Ruth Ann Flynn, 77, died after a brave and hard-fought battle with Lung Cancer August 24, 2020 at Northern Lights Eastern Maine Medical Center. She was born September 17, 1942 in Caribou, ME, the daughter of Raymond D. and Una Pearl (Churchill) Swenson.
Ruth graduated from Caribou High School, and while waitressing, met and ultimately married the love of her life, Harold “Harry” Flynn, in 1962 in Caribou. They celebrated their 56th anniversary prior to Harry passing away in early 2019.
Ruth embarked on a lifelong journey of building, loving, and caring for her family and making homes around the world as an amazing wife of a career Air Force veteran and wonderful mother to two sons who absolutely adored her. She was also a loving daughter who cared for her mother, Una, in her home for her final 15 years.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband Harry and her siblings Raymond “Ray” and Catherine “Kay”. Surviving are her beloved sons, Harold C. Flynn, Jr., his wife, Treva, of Sarasota, Florida and Damon R. Flynn of Yarmouth, Maine; granddaughter, Ashley Flynn Romeo and her husband, Eric Romeo of Boston; and special niece, Jacqueline Amato and her husband, Tony of Princeton, NJ; special friends, Laurie (Burns) Flynn, and her children, Jordan and Djaylan Burns.
