Obituary

Carline Jane (Merrill) Dunham, 86, passed away at her son’s home in Winterport on February 21, 2021, with her loving family surrounding her. She was born February 23, 1934 in Bangor, the daughter of Percy E. and Rita M. (Colson) Merrill.

Carline graduated from the Bangor High School. In 1955 she married the love of her life, Robert L. Dunham. She worked for a few years in the Winterport Town Office and the majority of her career she worked in the Superintendent’s Office of SAD #22 in Hampden. Carline was known as a good fly fisherman and enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. She also enjoyed playing the slots at the Hollywood Casino. Her animals were dear to her, especially her cats. More then anything she loved her family, spending time at camp and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carline was dearly loved by her family and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her family; Pamela Astbury and husband Glen of Blue Hill, Ron Dunham and wife Tammy of Lincoln, Scott Dunham and wife Ann of Winterport; grandchildren, Jessica Hutchins-Conrad and husband Carl, Elizabeth Lemieux and husband Patrick, Kevin Dunham and wife Kelly, Anthony Dunham, Joshua Dunham, Cody Field, Adam Field; great grandchildren, Brady and Owen Hutchins, Emmett Lemieux, Natalie, Liam, and Grant Dunham; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joyce Thibodeau, Bonnie and Mike Wellman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert in 1995 as well as her brother, Eugene Merrill and his wife, Dorothy Merrill.

Graveside funeral services at Oak Hill Cemetery, Winterport, will be announced in the spring. Gifts in Carline’s memory may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Ave, Bangor, ME 04401 or to a charity of choice. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com

To All,

Our deepest condolences to all her family. We all have some fond memories at the family Christmas parties and get togethers at the Dunham (Hatt) "Little Red Camp". I stopped by her place in Winterport after leaving Mom's a couple of times and we had some good conversations about family and the antics and love of our cats. She will be missed, but we will all meet again someday...... .Love Cuz Rhonda
