Hermon Maine – Frances “Franny” Green, 81, died peacefully with her family by her side on April 30, 2021. She was born October 18, 1939 in Bangor, the daughter of Alton Snow and Madiline Pomeroy.
Frances was educated in Hermon schools. She worked in healthcare and factories throughout her adulthood. Franny had a love for all things family oriented, outdoor activities, music and dancing, traveling, poker, and bingo. Franny had a way of bringing joy to all with her kindness and smile. Franny would always receive compliments on her appearance, most would say “she dressed to the nines.” Fashion was her passion!
Surviving in addition to her companion of 20 years, Wilford Swoboda, is her daughter, Tammy Mason and her husband, Bill; son Jimbo Green and his wife, Charlene; six grandchildren; Jonathan Green, Jessica Green, Courtney Green and her partner, Courtney, Tiffany Merrill, Amy Henderson and her husband, Dan, Nicole Clarke and her husband, Jeremy; eleven great grandchildren, Chloe, Adam, Lexi, Kiera, Colton, Cody, Hunter, Hayden, Lily, Bubby, and Aiden; one great-great grandson; Mateo; four sisters, Evelyn, Pauline, Angie, and Millie; two special sisters in-law; Pauline Curless and Bunny Green, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Franny was predeceased by her husband Leonard “Cookie” Green, three brothers; Lewis, Melvin, and James, and a special grandson in-law Robbie.
Relatives and friends are welcome to join a celebration of Franny’s life 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 08, 2021 at Bangor Elks, 108 Odlin Road, Bangor. Immediately following the celebration of life, interment will be held at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon, officiated by Pastor Steve Smith.
