Alan Leighton

March 4, 1949 — September 12, 2020

HALLOWED BE THY NAME: Alan R. Leighton, 71, of Hampden, arrived in Heaven on September 12, 2020. Our lives have changed, but the love survives.

Alan – you are the smile on the faces of your sons. You are a gift from God and our hearts beat as one.

Alan was very dedicated and his family was the most important aspect of his life. He was a hard worker, a wonderful provider and a great mentor to his sons. He served in the U.S. Army and did two tours in Vietnam. He owned his own drywall business for years. Those who remember Alan speak of his generosity and compassion for others. Some of his greatest enjoyments were coaching baseball, packing kids into his van to go to a concert, collecting trains and building many beautiful model cars. Alan was a strong advocate for veterans and helped many of them get their claims approved.

Alan is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Brenda; and their two sons, Chris and Josh, and a very special granddaughter, Destiny Doyle. Many nieces and nephews: Angela, Jay, Tracy, Bill, Brent, Melissa, Rebecca, Krista, Alicia, and Daniel. He is also survived by a very special friend, Bob Moody
.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
