Alan F. Toothaker

Alan Foster Toothaker, 69, died peacefully, October 29, 2016, at home after a brief illness. He was born in Bangor, July 29, 1947, son of Lester G. and Emeroy (Simpson) Toothaker.
Alan was a graduate of Hampden Academy, Class of 1966. He then worked with his father in the sheet metal business. After a time he went to work for A.J. Cole as a trailer mechanic, then finally worked as a lathe operator for GE, and retired from there in 2012.
Alan was an avid hunter and he enjoyed ice fishing with his very special friend, Rob.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Michelle (Campbell) Toothaker; one son, Dennis Toothaker; a grandson, Garrett; a brother and sister-in-law, Austin and Sharon Toothaker; a nephew, Jeremy Toothaker of Portland.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a service in celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m.
