Alfred ‘Al’ J. Corbett passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday September 15, 2024. He was 88 years old and loved by all who knew him. Al is survived by many adoring family members including Patty Goodridge, Karen and Wayne LeBreton, Carol Clark, Sean Corbett, and Gloria Lane. Al also has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, whom he loved dearly. He loved to spend time with his family, and they enjoyed many adventures together such as camping, going to the Fryeburg Fair, and apple picking. He found great joy in providing his family endless baked goods, personalized snacks, and our favorite drinks. We have a sneaking suspicion that he held stock in Little Debbie. He also enjoyed feeding all of the family pets far too many treats.
When he wasn’t spending time in his favorite recliner, you would likely find him playing the slots or betting on his favorite horses. We joke that his contributions to the casino likely paid for some of their renovations over the years. He also loved to golf with his best friend Elbow; in his earlier years, he was a state champion candlepin bowler.
Al was predeceased by his brother Earl, his mother Delcina and his father Lawrence, as well as his lovely wife Helen ‘Toby’. We know that he was welcomed home by Toby where the two of them are finally dancing cheek to cheek once again. We also believe that he is surrounded by his countless pets and doling out plenty of treats. Dad / Papa / Gramps, we love and miss you, you wonderful dummy. There will be a private ceremony held. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Bangor Humane Society as Al would have wanted.
