Alfred Cote

OLD TOWN - Alfred C. Cote, 94, died peacefully on August 26, 2022, in Bangor. Al was born in Old Town on January 9, 1928, the son of Louis and Marie (Couturier) Cote.

Al lived all his life in Old Town, graduating from Old Town High School Class of 1946. He worked in the local mills, retiring from James River Corp. Al was a faithful member of Holy Family Church (Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord) all his life. He was also a very loyal member of the Old Town Knights of Columbus #2537, 3rd degree, where he served in various roles attaining the position of Grand Knight. Al was also a dedicated member of the Fourth Degree Assembly #0364. He was also well known in the community as the house chairman of the Knights of Columbus Hall and as a past member of the Old Town School Board (1968-1973).

Al is survived by four sons, John Sulinski and his wife, Francine, of Old Town, James Cote, of Milford, Joseph Cote and his wife, Damaris, of New Hampshire, and Jeffrey Cote, of Bangor; five grandchildren, Gillan Sulinski and her fiancé, Travis Smith, Ella and Brooke Sulinski, Jasmine Cote, and Justin Cote; two great-grandchildren, Beckam and Riley Smith. Al also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and one special nephew, Craig Holleran.

Al was predeceased by his parents, brothers and their wives, Louis and Greta, Clement and Martha, Daniel and Viola; sister, Velma Holleran; nieces, Deborah Holleran and Judy Polyot; nephews, Charles Holleran III, and Carl, Timothy and Louis Cote.

Al was loving, caring, generous, funny and outspoken. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2022, at The Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town, followed by the Rite of Committal at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Old Town. A reception will follow at the Parish Hall.
