Alton L. Collins, 80, passed away peacefully on September 17th, 2023 at Hibbard Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer and Heart Disease.
He attended East Corinth Academy, was an Army National Reservist, also a member of several clubs throughout the years. He was a highly reputable, skilled heavy equipment, truck mechanic. Alton enjoyed working on old One Lunger motors, his favorite was his Ottawa Log Saw, International one lunger famous, old tractors. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t repair to work. Most of the time you could find him with a wrench in his hand. He enjoyed family gatherings especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. He looked forward to “the Springfield Fair”.
Alton is survived by his wife of 50 years, Penny (Archer) Collins; brother, Ralph and wife Judith of Corinth; son, Adam of Corinth; daughters; Jennifer of Corinth and Annette of Florida; three very special grandsons, Tyler, Andrew and Colton of Corinth, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside committal service for family and friends will be held at 10AM, Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, at the Corinthian Cemetery, Exeter Road, with a celebration of life immediately following at Corinth United Methodist Church, 274 Main St, Corinth, ME 04427.
