Amy Louise Cota, 55, passed away on December 11, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 25, 1961, in Bangor.

Amy lived a very full life and enjoyed movies, music, shopping, traveling, going to camp and attending parties with family, friends and food. After completing high school, she volunteered for many years at The Elizabeth Levinson Center and participated in The Special Olympics. Amy especially enjoyed spending time with her friends at Amicus / Community Life Skills.

Amy was predeceased by her parents, Harold J. Cota and Helen Louise (Perkins) Cota. She is survived by her sister and special brother-in-law, Susan Young and Gary Young; her sister, Julie Cota; a niece, Tracy LeClair and husband Chris; and a nephew, Chad Young and wife Amanda; three great-nieces, Emily LeClair, Madeline LeClair, and Isabel Young. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the care and kindness provided at the Homestead Unit of Orono Commons, and a special thank you to Suzanne Foss.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 AM, Friday, December 16, 2016, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street Bangor, following the service. In lieu of flowers gifts in her memory may be made to the Special Olympics, Maine, 125 John Roberts Road #5, S. Portland, ME 04106.
