Amy Jane Fortier, 71, passed away unexpectedly on June 28, 2024, at her home in Bangor. She was born on April 27, 1953, in Bangor, the beloved daughter of Louis and Virginia Fortier.
Amy was a dedicated learner and achieved significant educational milestones throughout her life. She graduated from Orono High School and furthered her education with an Associate’s Degree in Finance from EMVTI, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, and a Master’s Degree in Business from Husson College. Amy excelled in various professional roles, notably in sales at WABI, Darling’s Honda, Downeast Toyota, and more recently in mortgage lending and home sales. Her exceptional skills were recognized with numerous awards and promotions over the years.
Beyond her career, Amy cherished her family and formed lasting friendships wherever she went. Known for her wit, style, and warmth, she will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by many.
Amy is survived by her son, Christopher Alan Pressey; grandchildren, Benjamin Walton and his wife Andrea, Christopher Michael Pressey, Heidi Howes, and Claire Lawson; great-grandchildren, Maynard and Olivia Walton; and her siblings, Cindy “Fortier” Hatfield, Danielle “Fortier” Fournier, Suzanne Fortier, and Mark Fortier.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering to celebrate Amy’s life 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, followed by a reception at the Family Reception Center of Brooking-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
