Orono - It is with broken hearts that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Amy on October 4, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. Amy was born on February 10, 1976, to James and Kerry Casey Garland.
Amy graduated from Orono High School where she participated in softball and basketball. She went on to attend the University of Maine at Orono. Amy married Brian Myers on September 25, 2010. They shared 3 children, Mitchell, Jordyn, and Alexandra. She loved her family and all the laughter we shared at family gatherings. Her quick wit made her the life of the party. Amy was a sports lover and especially enjoyed watching the New York Giants with her dad. Watching movies with Brian and Mitchell was one of her favorite pastimes. A highlight of her life was attending her daughter Jordyn’s wedding in October 2023.
Amy is survived by her husband, Brian; parents, Kerry and Jim; brother, Casey and his partner, Julia; daughter, Jordyn Cardona and her husband, Thomas; son, Mitchell, and stepdaughter Alexandra. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, George; sister-in-law, Brenda; niece, Jamie; and close aunts, Colleen, Candy, Kelly, Kate, and Terri, cousins and a special niece and nephew, Brittney and Connor Garland. Amy will be sadly missed by her close friends. She was predeceased by her favorite and only uncle, Colby Casey.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the dedicated staff at St. Joseph Hospital ICU and Northern Light EMMC ICU for the excellent care Amy received during her final weeks. Amy showed amazing strength, bravery, and courage throughout her extended illness, without complaint, and totally amazed those of us who observed the major obstacles she endured.
A celebration of life will be held for Amy on Saturday, October 12 at 11 am at Winterport Baptist Church located at 100 Cole’s Corner Road in Winterport, ME 04496. A reception will be held downstairs to follow.
