Anna Betts

Anna Eloise Betts, 92, left this world peacefully on September 25, 2015. She was born May 19, 1923 in Camden, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Hall) Carver.

A longtime resident of Bangor, Anna worked at the Camden Shipyard during World War II and for 18 years at the Penobscot Inn, where she lived for more than 60 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, word search puzzles, and the Boston Red Sox.

Anna will always be remembered as a devoted and loving mother of 2, grandmother of 8, great-grandmother of 22, and great-great grandmother of 6. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister Frances Jackson, and brothers Fred and Robert Hall. She is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Cyr and husband Rod; a son, Wayne LeVasseur and wife Coralee, all of Bangor. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Anna loved nothing more than spending time with them. She adored children and took every opportunity to make special moments for them whenever possible.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM, Monday, Sept. 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 29.
