October 11, 1948 — May 26, 2022

Anne Weston Worthley, 73 years old.

Anne Worthley peacefully passed away May 26, 2022 at her home in Hampden, Maine. Anne was born October 11, 1948, in Caribou, ME to Donald and Theodora (Wright) Weston. In 1956 the family moved to Winterport, ME and Anne attended the schools in Winterport. Her senior year was at Bangor High School where she graduated in 1966. In 1970 Anne graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in education. In the 1980s Anne received her master’s degree in education. For 37 years Anne taught at the elementary schools in Newburgh, Winterport, and Hampden. She had a huge positive impact on so many young lives during her career as a teacher. After retiring she enjoyed working at the Challenger Learning Center of Maine in Bangor.

On July 15, 2006, Anne married Clinton Worthley, the love of her life.

Anne enjoyed traveling and exploring all over the world including China, Iceland, Europe, and Canada. Her favorite saying was “Not all who wander are lost.” Maine was always her favorite place though, especially the family camp on Lower Patten Pond in Ellsworth. The week each summer at camp with the grandchildren was always a highlight of the year. She loved being outdoors paddling her kayak, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and hiking. Anne was a great cook, pianist, knitter, and quilter. Drinking a glass of wine with friends was one of her favorite activities. She was an original member of the Judy’s Place Wreath Society. Anne always enjoyed reading and having a cat laying in her lap.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, her brother Stephen Weston, and sister-in-law Judy Fitzpatrick-Weston. She will be missed by her husband Clint, brother John Weston and his wife Teri of Malone, NY, brother Peter Weston of Scarborough, ME, stepdaughter Carrie Lemos and her husband Jason of Carmel, ME, stepdaughter Shelly Schnyer of Nashua, NH, and grandchildren Ethan Schnyer, Gavin Lemos, Joelle Schnyer and Ryan Lemos. In addition, she is survived by her lifelong best friend and cousin Mary Weston, and other cousins, nieces, and nephews. The loons and the eagles at Patten Pond will miss Anne as well.

Anne was one of the sweetest people to walk the earth. She considered all her many friends as ‘special’ whom she loved, and they loved her as well.
