Brewer – Annette “Nannette” F. Drew, 97, died unexpectedly June 13, 2015, at a Bangor hospital with her family by her side. She was born May 21 (23), 1918, in Bangor, the daughter of Edward Earl and Mary (Finnegan) Curran.
Annette graduated from Bangor High School and the Bangor School of Commerce. She was married to Judson “Bud” Drew. They lived in Bangor and had four children. Over the years Annette worked as a Court Stenographer at Dow Air Force Base, as a secretary for many years for Walter Constantine Insurance Adjuster, at the ABC School, and at the American Red Cross before she finally retired at the young age of 85. Annette was kind, caring, and always willing to help. She had a great sense of humor and a “never give up” attitude. She loved playing bridge, going to the seashore, and most of all, eating lobster.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, sister Ruth McCarthy and husband Eugene, grandson Chuck White, and sons-in-law Leon White and David Lasher. She is survived by her daughters Gayle Russell and husband Bob of Brewer, Lynne Lasher of Old Orchard Beach, Diane White of Duncan, SC, and son Ned Drew of LaQuinta, CA; grandchildren Kevin Russell and wife Heather of Brewer, Kim (Russell) Sivillo and husband David of South Orange, NJ, Jeff Robertson and wife Crystal of Lake Tahoe, CA, Rusty Drew and wife Dawn of Gaithersburg, MD, Debbie (Drew) Matte and husband Greg of Germantown, MD; great grandchildren Hunter and Hannah Russell and Caitlin Drew; special niece Jeanne Brookings and husband Jack, and their family; and very special friends Alice McInnis and Patty Cochrane.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5:30-7:30 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 531 North Main St., Brewer Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11 AM followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Following committal prayers relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Rooms of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
