Tony Nadeau, 66, died unexpectedly at his residence in Orono on August 13, 2024. He was born November 30, 1957, a son of Albert L. and Virginia (Thibodeau) Nadeau.
Tony grew up in Orono’s “basin” neighborhood alongside many cousins and extended family. He attended Orono schools and held various jobs; he was a proud, lifelong resident of the basin.
Tony was an avid outdoorsman and hunter who loved eagles, wolves, and live music, especially the blues. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He had many friends and hosted “pool night” every Wednesday. He was loyal, generous, and caring; unprompted, he plowed the bottom of the driveway for most basin residents after every plowable snow.
In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his dear friend, Jeannette Turner. He is survived by his siblings, Shirley Maillett and Albert Nadeau; nieces and nephews, Terry, Shelly, and Timothy; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; many cousins; his dear friend, Robin Fisher; and his beloved dog, Lady.
A private service for family will be held at Orono Cemetery and a potluck celebration of life for family and friends will be held at Tony's house from 1 to 4 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, with Brookings-Smith assisting in the arrangements.
