Antonio “Junior” Cardillo, 74, passed away unexpectedly, December 10, 2015, in the company of his wife, Patricia, his daughter, Erin and her husband, John. Junior was born in Providence, RI, November 2, 1941, the son of Antonio and Sabitina (Nardolillo) Cardillo.
Junior grew up as a faithful and active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. It was in the Jehovah’s Witnesses that Junior met his future wife, Patricia Wells, when he was only six years old. When they got older, Junior and Patricia married and spent 56 years together being very much in love and supporting one another in serving Jehovah.
Junior became a welder after he left school, working for the next 20 years at Rhode Island companies, first for Bragger Construction, and later Tower Iron and City Line Welding. In 1976, Junior and Patricia moved to Patten where they spent the next 47 years, until health issues became too difficult to manage.
Junior is survived by beloved wife, Patricia; the five children they lovingly raised, Antonio Cardillo, Joel Cardillo, Candace L. Evans, Erin Hoyt, and Christine DeSantis; 10 grandchildren and was also the proud great grandfather to 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Junior was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Nydam, Loretta Riddell and Evelyn Klos.
A memorial service to celebrate Junior’s life will be held 2 pm, March 18, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to share in conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service.
