Archie A. Fairbrother, 81, passed on peacefully at a Bangor Hospital, October 2, 2013, surrounded by family. He was born June 18, 1932 in Plymouth.
Archie retired honorably from his career of 21 years with the US Air Force as a Master Sargent. During his military career, he served with pride and honor, stationed throughout the US and abroad, with his favorite place being here in Maine at Charleston Air Force Base. He also received his Bachelor’s degree in Education at the University of Maine Orono. He was an avid member of several aviary and animal clubs as well as an avid horticulturist, specializing in orchids.
Archie was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Eugenia Fairbrother; a brother, George; sister, Helen; first wife, Charlotte; and a daughter, April-Jo. He is survived by a brother, Benjamin; sister, Erma; wife, Evarose; children, Charles, Michael, Diana, John, Yvette, Daniel, Therese, and Vincent; stepchildren, Russell III, Earl, and Suella; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Room, 5th floor, 6th floor, and Rev. Roland Nadeau for all the help and support.
