Brewer and Bradenton Florida – Arthur J. Sites Sr., 95, went home to be with the Lord September 23, 2020. He was born in Milford January 8, 1925, to Joseph and Edith (Robinson) Sites.
Arthur attended Bangor schools, and eventually moved to Brewer in 1957. He was employed by J.J. Nissen’s Baking Corporation for 33 years, retiring as Branch Manager. After retirement, Arthur spent his winters in Florida.
Arthur was an avid golfer, and enjoyed helping his neighbors with various home improvement projects. Arthur was a dedicated Mason, a member of the Ralph J. Pollard Lodge #217 AF&AM, of Orrington. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and was especially dedicated to his work with Anah Shriners. He attended Columbia St. Baptist Church, in Bangor, for twenty years, and Calvary Baptist Church, in Brewer, the past four years.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 20 years, Jackie Sites; are his five children, Marilyn Geiser, of Brewer, Peggy Parker, of Bucksport, Arthur “Joe” Sites Jr., of Bangor, Nancy Roy Williams and her husband, Clay Williams, of Hermon, and Alan Sites, of Brewer; step-daughter, Jannel Alexander, of Surry, ME; sisters, Dorothy Larcombe, of Orono, and Jackie West, of California; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Sites; and his brothers, Don, Ralph, and Bob.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at Brookings-Smith Funeral Home, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Calvary Baptist Church, 61 State St., Brewer. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Fellowship Hall of Calvary Baptist Church, following the service. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Arthur in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Salvation Army, 65 Park Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
