NEWBURGH - Arthur W. Young, 79, died unexpectedly December 3, 2023, at his home. He was born July 26, 1944, in Bangor, the son of Clarence and Evelyn (Morgan) Young.
Arthur was a Newburgh resident his entire life and spent over 50 years as a butcher for Doug’s Shop’n Save and Hannaford, along with Watson’s Butcher Shop, in Etna. He spent many years coaching his sons in Little League and continuing to coach his grandkids and numerous other kids after that for many years. He loved spending his time outdoors and going for walks in the woods. Arthur was a good coach, role model and a great father.
Arthur is survived by his three children, Teressa Brown and her husband, John, of Bangor, Delmer Terrill, of Newburgh, and Daniel Terrill and his wife, Christine, of Bangor; grandchildren, Megan, Nick, Chloe, Alexander, Kathryn and Jaxon; great grandchild, Anakin; brother, Ivan Young; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Buachan Jimy Young; son, Michael Young; and his sister, Myrtle (Young) Ellingwood.
