CARIBOU - Barbara Ellen Coroniti “Grammy Barb”, 96, went home to be with The Lord August 27, 2020, surrounded by family. Barbara was born January 11,1924, the daughter of the late Nathan and Josephine (Searles) Curtis and stepmother, Dora Curtis.
Barbara was a life member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, alongside her sister, Rosanna, and a longtime member of the Caribou United Baptist Church. She was a Fountain Manager at JJ Newberry's for 20 years after retirement she worked with her daughters Marylou and Debbie in their Daycare where she became Grammy Barb to all. Barbara was a devoted and loving sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a resident at Caribou Gardens for 32 years where many of her friends became family.
Barbara leaves behind four children, Son Marvin and Wife Jackie of Caribou, Daughter June and Husband Tom of Exeter NH, Daughter Marylou of Caribou and Daughter Debbie of Bangor. Barbara leaves behind nine grandchildren; Lynn and husband Larry of Fillmore NY, Becki and husband Scott of Dover-Foxcroft ME, Victor and wife Starla of Georgia, Peter Michael and wife Michelle of Idaho, Sonia and husband Bryan of Fontana, CA, Wendi and husband John of Oklahoma, Melissa and husband Mario of Caribou, Tony and Dee of Pittsfield, Abigail and husband Jared of Ellsworth. Seventeen great grandchildren; Michael, Hannah, Sam, Corey, Rachel, Tauni, Cera, Ben, Matthew, Elizabeth, Tyler, Celina, Justin, Zack, Joshua, Caleb, and James. Five great great-grandchildren; Keagan, Tristan, Kaijan, Drexel, and Kylie. Barbara is survived by her sister Ella of Brunswick, sister Esther and husband Dee of Brunswick, brother Emery and wife Wanita of Caribou brother Maynard and wife Sharon of Connecticut brother Freddy Curtis of Brunswick and very special nieces and nephews; Nathan and Sherry Peary of Levant, Larry and Linda Bragg of Washburn and Tommy Humphrey of Washburn. Barbara is predeceased by her beloved son Victor; Brothers Elmer and Clyde; sisters Mildred, Rosanna and Idella, her beloved Cecil Doak and children Sammy, Virginia, Mona, and Richard.
