Bangor - Barry E. Cates died unexpectedly on October 15, 2024. He was born November 1, 1965, in Bangor, the son of Willard and Nancy (Tenney) Cates.
Barry attended Bangor schools. He worked in Massachusetts for many years before coming back to Bangor. Barry worked for over 20 years at Applicator Sales which later became Beacon Building Supplies in Bangor. He was currently working at Home Roofing Solutions in Etna.
Barry is survived by his son, Ryan Cates and wife, Liz and his grandchildren, Savannah, Hunter, and Dakota of Parkman; brothers, Brian Tenney and wife, Carol, of Guilford, and George Cates and wife, Mary, of Albion; sister, Lynn Rickett and husband, Terry, of Gorham; several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brother, Steven.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Penobscot Pour House, 14 Larkin St. Bangor.
