Beatrice Park

Brewer – Beatrice L. Park, 93, passed away July 4, 2016, following a prolonged illness. She was born September 12, 1922, in Brewer, the daughter of William C. and Agnes (McLaughlin) Park.

Bea graduated from Brewer High School, class of 1940. She was employed at Eastern Fine Paper until she went to Bangor School of Commerce, which is now Husson University. She graduated in 1974, and also received an Honorary Doctorate of Law at the same time. Bea was inducted into Husson’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 1986.

She retired after a long career as Clerk of Courts, Penobscot County, in Bangor. Bea was born and lived her entire life in her parents’ home and for over 60 years lived with M. Marjorie Plaisted who recently died in June.
In addition to her parents, Bea was predeceased by her brother William. She is survived by sister-in-law Louise Park; nephew Lewis Park and wife Wilma, of Orono; niece Brenda Merritt, of Southwest Harbor; grandniece Crystal Roy, her husband Brandon, and their son William; and life time friend Ethel Andrews of Brewer.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to caregiver Karen Coombs; and for compassionate care received while at Westgate Manor.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Brewer, with Pastor Harbour Mitchell, of the First United Methodist Church in Brewer officiating.
