Beatrice Woodhead

February 2, 1929 — April 4, 2016

BANGOR – On April 4, 2016, our beautiful mother, Beatrice S. (Bryant) Woodhead, was reunited in heaven with her husband, Chief Francis Woodhead. She was born in Lewiston, February 2, 1929, the daughter of Alexander Bryant and Dorothy (Temple) Bryant.

Mom was a lot of things; smart as hell, talented at many things: an excellent cook, seamstress and a hard worker who worked full time once the youngest was in school.

Though we are terribly sad, we take comfort knowing she is now with her husband of 65 years, Francis, and her beloved son, Dennis. Because of Dennis’ disability she was an early advocate and active member of the Eastern Maine Friends of Retarded Children. She is also predeceased by her much loved son-in-law, Crawford “Skip” Kinney and sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and John Gielarowski.

Beatrice is survived by her daughters, Gayle Kinney and Ellen Woodhead and son, James Woodhead; grandchildren, K.C. Kinney and his wife, Heather, Elysa Woodhead and Vincent Woodhead; great-granddaughter, Lydia Marie Kinney (2 ½ years old). We will miss her wit and tremendous sacrifices and kindnesses. Thank you Mother!

Private services will be held later this spring. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
