B. Elissa Durando
Elissa Durando, 89, passed away March 10th, 2022. She was born on August 11th, 1932, in Brewer, Maine, the daughter of Ralph Waldo Morrill and Arlene (Albee) Morrill.
Elissa married Harry C. Durando in 1952 and they travelled extensively while in the military. She was also a lifelong member of the Columbia Street Baptist Church. She worked as a dental assistant and later as an administrative assistant after military retirement. She and Harry retired to Texas and later to Bangor.
Elissa is survived by her sisters, Ellen Gay(Kory Franzen and Tiffany Holt) and Jeanine Lavigne(Jennifer Lane Ladd) and brother in-law, Laurent Lavigne, and special nephew, Michael Norton and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, Harry, she is also predeceased by her parents, and her sister, Judy Burton.
Those who wish to remember Elissa in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Ave, Bangor, Maine, 04401. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 17th, 2022, at 1pm, at Brookings-Smith Funeral Home, 133 Center Street, Bangor, Maine, 04401 with interment following the service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Bangor, Maine.
