VEAZIE - Betty Anne Snively, 81, died peacefully on December 22, 2020, after a long courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Betty was born in Portsmouth, NH on October 1, 1939 to Paul E. Ward Sr. and Elizabeth (Dockham) Ward.
Betty graduated from Portsmouth High Schoo,l Class of 1958. Following graduation and working
for the State of NH, Betty met the love of her life, Jack Snively, while on vacation in Ohio. They were
married 43 years until Jack’s death in 2004.
They settled in Bangor in 1973. Betty worked at EMMC and then for Orthotic Prosthetic Design for 30 years until her retirement in 2006.
After retirement Betty volunteered at the Veazie Community School for 8 years doing “Cooking with
Nana.” Betty was also a member of Eastern Star (Nokomis) where she reached Grand Ester.
Betty is survived by her children, Scott Snively and his wife, Glenna of Kingston, WA; Sharon Thebarge and her husband, Steven of Veazie along with the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Samantha and Braedon Snively of Kingston, WA, Ian Snively of Washington, DC, Sarah and Ethan Thebarge of Veazie. She is also survived by many family and friends.
