Bonita (Lynch) Hodgins
Bonnie Hodgins, 79, passed away January 14, 2019 after a long illness. She was born in Bangor, November 17, 1939, daughter of Lawrence C. and Norma G. (Eames) Lynch.
Bonnie was captain of the JV cheering squad at Bangor High School and graduated in the class of 1957. She then attended Husson College and graduated in 1958.
She was employed in the office at Ansewn Shoe Company, manager of Unobskey’s at the Bangor Mall and finally retired from People’s United Bank as a teller.
Bonnie was a member of the Orrington Jaycee Wives, the Bangor Emblem Club, and a lifelong member of Hammond St. Congregational Church.
She loved spending time with her family, particularly her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving are her beloved high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years, Ned Sr.; three children Ned Jr., Dan and his wife Sherry and Lynn Hodgins; grandchildren, Katie Stevenson and fiancé Ryan Lounsbury, Heidi Rice and husband Samuel, Jared Hodgins and wife Kacey; great grandchildren, Hannah, Emily, Kendall, Nolan, Aubrey and Lexi; brothers, Lawrence Lynch Jr., Jerome Lynch and wife Ann; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hospice and Brewer Center for Health and Rehabilitation, for the care of Bonnie.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm. Monday January 21, 2019 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Alan Doty, pastor of Hammond St. Congregational Church officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call 11 am until time of service Monday. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
