Brandon graduated from Central High School, Class of 2006, and the University of Maine Orono, Class of 2010, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Johnson Outdoors as a Quality Supervisor at Old Town Canoe. Brandon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, hiking, boating, and days spent at the lake. He enjoyed spending time with his best friend and wife Kassie, as well as with family and friends. He was very loving and kind hearted, always thought of others first, and had a strong faith in God.
In addition to his parents, Brandon is survived by his wife, Kassie Levesque Washburn; sister, Brooke Nickerson and her husband Levi, and their children Patricia and Marice; grandmother, Marice Arnold; mother-in-law, Janet Levesque; father-in-law, Raymond Levesque; brother-in-law, Nathan Levesque and his wife Kate, and their child, Quinn; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends, and his black lab Bo.
Brandon battled cancer with such strength and courage, often taking it with great humor and using his illness as a chance to inspire others. Brandon said, “If there is one thing I have learned through all this, is that we are nothing without the Lord. He has taught me very quickly to look at everyday as a gift and look at everything as a blessing and not a curse.”
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 7-9 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2014, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A funeral service will be held 4 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2014, at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, 185 Main Rd., Charleston. Interment will be held later in the spring. In 2013 Brandon started the team “Fishing for a Cure” and raised funds for the EMMC Champion of the Cure Challenge in order to support patients of all ages faced with cancer.
