Brenda H. Moore-MacDonald
Dedham, Maine
Brenda H. Moore-MacDonald went on to be with her Lord on January 14, 2023 at Ross Manor in Bangor. She was born on July 8, 1941, in Castine, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Atwood) Sherwood.
Brenda attended Ellsworth High School and shortly afterward married on November 27, 1959 to Byron S. Moore, Jr. of Holden. They put down their roots in Dedham, where they had three boys, Robert of Dedham, Douglas of Dedham and Ricky of Glenburn. Tragically, on February 22, 1970, Byron passed away in a car accident. Brenda bravely continued to raise her three boys alone until she married Edward MacDonald, now deceased. Brenda had two girls Denise (Jameson) of Bucksport and Dawn (Fournier) of Old Town.
While incredibly dedicated as a mother to her five children, she was always attentive and supportive in their school sports and activities. Her nurturing and care were evident in everything she did as she always put her children’s needs in front of her own.
Brenda loved to knit, which resulted in many beautiful sweaters, as well as dozens of winter socks, hats and mittens made for her children and grandchildren. She also loved to work in her garden, from which she canned all sorts of goodies to give away to her family and friends.
Brenda leaves behind her five children, as well as seven grandchildren, Nathaniel Moore, Julie-Anne Johnson (Moore), Joseph Moore, Jezreel Moore, Mallory Moore, Brady Fournier and Brian Willis, as well three great-grandchildren; Charity Johnson, Chloe Johnson and Noah Moore. She also says goodbye to her three brothers; Stephen Sherwood of Florida, Paul Sherwood of Orland, Maine; and Fred Sherwood of Jasper, Georgia. The family will miss her smile and passionate love, but we look forward to seeing her again in heaven where there will be no more pain, heartache or death.
The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate her life and share conversation and refreshments 12 pm. to 2 pm. Saturday January 28, 2023 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor.
