GRAY - Bruce Albert Carmichael, 60, passed away peacefully Sept. 1, 2013, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. He was born Dec. 1, 1952, in Bangor, the son of Wendell R. and Dorothy (Chase) Carmichael. Bruce was raised in Bangor, and often worked in the family business, Quality Bakery. He graduated from Bangor High School. Bruce worked for the Portland Press Herald Newspaper for almost 26 years. The past four years he worked for a good friend, Mark Libby, doing property maintenance, which he enjoyed. He enjoyed his computer, and liked his wine. Bruce was a very gentle and caring man and was dearly loved by all who knew him.He is survived by his brother, Richard Carmichael, and wife, Rhonda Brown, of Placida, Fla. He is also survived by brother, Virgil Carmichael, and partner, Bob Woods, of Ashville, N.C.A gathering to celebrate Bruce's life will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Blackstones, 6 Pine St., Portland. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, 11 Hunnewell Road, Scarborough, ME 04074. Interment is in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
